New York Medicaid Choice workshops for health care providers in September

New York Medicaid Choice will host local and web-based workshops in September designed to inform health care providers about a new Medicaid policy that may affect their patients who reside in Orange and Rockland counties.

Residents of these counties who have both Medicare and Medicaid and who are 21 years of age or older are now required to enroll in managed care plans to receive home health care, personal care and other long term care services. This same requirement is in effect in certain other New York State counties.

New York Medicaid Choice (NYMC)  is New York State's Medicaid managed care enrollment program. NYMC notifies beneficiaries about their required managed care enrollment by mail. The program offers managed care education and enrollment assistance in all languages through it's customer services center.

Workshop leaders will further discuss the program's services, provide an overview of participating managed care plans and cover other related topics.
