NYMC Workshops for health care providers in March

New York Medicaid Choice will hold workshops in March to inform the health care community about the changes in the Medicaid long-term care program in Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk counties.

As of January 2013, residents of these counties who have both Medicare and Medicaid  and who are 21 years of age or older, are required to enroll in managed care plans to receive Medicaid home health care, personal care and other long-term care services.  This same requirement has been in effect in New York City as of July, 2012.

The New York Medicaid Choice program notifies beneficiaries about the required enrollment in a managed long term care plan. The program also offers managed care education and enrollment services.  Workshop leaders will further discuss the program’s services, provide an overview of the participating managed care plans, and cover other topics related to the new Medicaid program requirement.

Workshops will be held at the local Department of Social Services on March 8 - Westchester, March 12 - Suffolk, and on March 13 in Nassau county. For more information, contact Luz Martinez or Massiel Triana at 917-228-5600.
